“Do pass our thanks on to all of your team for their sterling work on the Microsoft Picnic on Sunday. I don’t think we have had a single negative comment regarding the day, the catering, the entertainment and the ambience – which is high praise indeed – all feedback has been so positive – with particular reference to the catering – which is great news.”

Sunflower Event Production
What the Press Said

Chilli pepper recognises its responsibilities to the environment and employs a rigorous company ‘green policy’ wherever possible. This policy is reviewed on a six monthly basis to take into account changes in both legislation and professional practice.

Food supplies

  • All menus are seasonally linked, in an effort to cut travel admissions produced by foreign food distribution.
  • We procure international fair-trade goods where possible.
  • Raw ingredients are sourced from sustainable and if possible organic and local suppliers.
  • All our meat supplies are from British stock, free-range, ethically & humanely reared.
  • Our clients are encouraged to purchase local bottled waters.

Disposable supplies

  • Where possible we use re-usable and/or decomposable disposable cutlery and tableware items made from sustainable, renewable & recycled resources

Transport

  • All our events team are encouraged on a daily basis to car share to and from both our offices and when on events.
  • Employ local staff where possible.
  • Attempt to limit the road miles involved in the transport of resources.

Waste

  • We comply with applicable legal requirements and regulations for waste management
  • Our food suppliers are delivered to us direct from our suppliers using a system called ‘De-cant’.  Goods are delivered to us in returnable plastic trays which our suppliers collect direct from us on their next delivery.  Thus cutting back dramatically on packaging waste and transportation of packaging waste.

Recycling

  • Our Chefs work hard to ensure that food waste is kept to a minimum at all times, naturally a certain proportion of waste is unavoidable and wherever and whenever possible food waste is ‘recycled’ to local pig farmers for pig feed.
  • All bottles, plastics & paper products recycled both on events and at offices wherever possible

Energy

  • At our office/warehouse/kitchen we encourage all electrical & gas equipment & computers to be turned off completely to reduce energy output when not in use.
